1. Who we are
Garden Library Space was built by The Authority Club. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use our website at gardenlibrary.space, including our academic papers marketplace and our Pathway Match feature.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, password), information provided during purchases (email address for payment processing), and usage data collected automatically (page visits, browser type) via Vercel Analytics to help us improve the site. If you use Pathway Match, we also collect the phone number you pay with, and the academic information and interests you submit about your child (their Grade 9 subject grades, KPSEA results where provided, and a free-text description of their hobbies and interests).
3. How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, process and fulfil your purchases, generate Pathway Match recommendations, send you purchase confirmation emails or save your Pathway Match result code, respond to your support requests, and improve our service. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Pathway Match and children’s data
Pathway Match asks a parent or guardian to submit information about their child in order to generate a recommendation. By submitting a request, you confirm you are that child’s parent or legal guardian. The grades, assessment results, and interests you submit are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the recommendation text, and are stored so that you can retrieve your result later using your result code or phone number. We do not use this information for advertising or share it with anyone other than the service providers described in this policy.
5. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Paystack, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details. For Pathway Match, the phone number you provide is passed to Paystack to process M-Pesa or card payment. Paystack's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled; we receive only a transaction reference and confirmation of payment.
6. Email communications
We send transactional emails (account confirmation, purchase receipts) via Resend. We do not send marketing emails without your consent. You can contact us at gardenlibrary2020@gmail.com to manage your communication preferences.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. We use Vercel Analytics which may set cookies to measure site performance. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure, hosted on AWS. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Purchased papers are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket — they are never publicly accessible. Pathway Match submissions and generated recommendations are stored in the same manner, accessible only via your result code or phone number.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you or your child. To make a request, email us at gardenlibrary2020@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Purchase records are retained for legal and accounting purposes. Pathway Match submissions and recommendations are retained so you can retrieve your result using your code or phone number; you may request deletion of this data at any time by contacting us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
